The UK formally left the EU on 31st January 2020
If your bike is being delivered to an address within the UK, you will see no change to the way in which we operate. Please see our delivery page for a full list of delivery options.
If you place your order after 31st December, and your bike is being delivered to an address within the EU, Dolan-Bikes will no longer charge you VAT. However, your order will be subject to VAT, and any other local tax and import duty when it arrives at your country’s border. You will be responsible for paying these taxes to your local authority in-line with your country’s customs procedures.
No. For orders placed before the UK left the EU Dolan-Bikes will declare your order as having VAT paid, and your bike will clear customs and be delivered direct to your chosen address. There will be no need for you to pay any further VAT.

No. Under the VAT Retail Export Scheme customers exporting bikes, as a result of leaving the EU for more than 12 months, have been able to reclaim the VAT on the bike by presenting a form VAT407 to customs when the goods are taken out of the EU. Unfortunately, as part of a review of duty-free shopping, obtaining this refund process ceases on 1st January 2021.
